ESM Review: Librium, is a nomadic discovery of surfing's unparalleled adrenaline rush, mixed with the unmistakeable, endorphin- induced euphoria that accompanies the madness. Charging forward with solid action and engaging plot structure, Lynch's free flowing, yet structured format provides a perfect travel feel and a selection of Super 8 footage adds character. The world is full of stress and anxiety. Luckily, films like LIBRIUM remind us where our truest and tastiest elixir exits and it's not in some man-made chemical substance. -Mike Fish Surfingthemag.com March / April Review: Here's the Pitch:Surfing is an art and making a video about surfing should be an art as well. Hollywood Connections: The Goonies: There's so much to discover in our ordinary surfing world; new people, adventures and best of all, treasures. Best Actor: Jamie O'Brien. He is versatility. You can take Jamie to knee high slop and he'll be happily boost nose bleeding aerials or you can throw him to the lions at huge pipe and he'll go deeper than most, all in a day's time. Thumbs up: The fact that the video sheds light on for the most part overlooked spots like Sebastian and Samoa makes it a well thought out, original film. The brief intros to each segment offer a personalized feel to the video and the professional footage gives the film a well-rounded feel --Andrew Lewis Surfer Magazine: LIBRIUM received 4 out of 5 stars From it's strong Jamie O'Brien opening to a tremendous Samoa segment cut with Super 8/video mixture to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's sounds, Librium has moments of brilliance. With music from Modest Mouse, Fugazi and BRMC, the sound track is excellent. It also Should be noted that Dave Rastovich's tube riding at Salani Rights alone makes Librium worth the price of admission. - Ross Garett Orange County Tribune Review. It's really cool how Librium starts. "Suggests surfer and Orange County flim critic Abriam Fitzenburg. "It begins with this strange intro that gets you wondering... What the hell is this? And then propels you to ponder a quantum physics question of the day. the answer of the question is clear when the first clip reveals Hawaiian surfer Jaimie O'Brien blasting out of a barrel and into a bottom turn then sends him flying fins free way above the wave. Even Jamie himself is perplexed by the movie.
